Rosa Ponselle, between c1915 and c1920. Shows soprano Rosa Ponselle (ne´e Rosa Ponzillo, 1897-1981) with pianist. One of the most highly acclaimed singers of the 1920s and 1930s, Rosa Ponselle began her musical career in a vaudeville act with her sister Carmela Ponselle and had a long career with the Metropolitan Opera.
