Woodhouse-Grove School, near Leeds, for the education of the sons of Methodist Ministers, 1862. 'The new institution was opened in 1812. It has since been enlarged at a cost of £6000, and is now one of the most admirably-arranged and healthful establishments in the country...During the fifty years of its existence the Grove School has proved a great success. It has furnished a series of eminent men to every profession and almost every department of trade...At the last year's middle-class examination six candidates from the Grove School passed in the first class and eight in the second, all of them holding high rank in their class'.
