Slate-coloured bonnet, ornamented with a long feather of the same colour, and provided with a crimson bavolet, black silk strings, and a rose...Narrow linen collar, à la Parisienne. Fig. 2. Dress for an Evening Party. Robe of white tarlatan...[with] a narrow fluted flounce, surmounted by seven rows of black velvet, above which is a tarlatan drapery, supported by black velvet agrafes. Very ample sleeves, terminating by a tight-fitting cuff, ornamented with stripe of narrow velvet. The pelerine is of black guipure...The headdress is composed of a garland of roses and rose-leaves placed immediately above the back hair, from which depends a black rolling feather. Fig. 3.
