Square of the First Battalion of Grenadier Guards, to which, brigaded with the 36th Regiment, the Prince of Wales was attached, 1861. Military unit to which the future King Edward VII belonged. Engraving from a photograph by Captain Fenton, of the 86th Regiment. 'The Prince left the...(Curragh Camp in County Kildare, Ireland) after a three months' sojourn...the cheering of the soldiers was vehement, and it was evident that the Prince was affected as he bade adieu...to his comrades in arms...the bands played the National Anthem, the soldiers presented arms and cheered most lustily'.
