New church of St. Luke, Euston-Road, St. Pancras, [London], 1861. 'The works were...discontinued for want of funds until 1860, when they were recommenced; and the church, less the tower and spire, was completed, and consecrated by the Lord Bishop of London on the 30th of May last, the Rev. Charles Henry Andrews being the Incumbent. The church consists of nave, aisles, a west-end gallery, and ample chancel; and seats 1200-600 adults and 200 children being free out of this number. The site was given by the Skinners' Company, and the church has been erected by grants given by the Ecclesiastical Commissioners, Incorporation and Diocesan Societies, the munificent gift of £1000 from the Earl of Ellesmere, and the remainder by subscriptions raised by the late Vicar, the Rev. Canon Dale, and the Incumbent, principally obtained out of the district of St. Luke, which is very poor. The church is of the Decorated style of the fourteenth century, and, when the tower and spire are completed, will be a handsome structure and a great ornamental feature in the Euston-road. It has been erected from the design of Mr. John Johnson, of the Adelphi'. From "Illustrated London News", 1861.
