Légende

Figure of a nymph in the Royal Dairy, Windsor, by J. Thomas, 1861. 'We have great pleasure, by the gracious permission of her Majesty, in giving an Engraving of the figure of a Nymph, in marble, by J. Thomas, which serves as a fountain in the Royal dairy, just completed at Frogmore...The figure is light and symmetrical in form, the attitude being eminently graceful. The nymph stands on a lotus plant, and has aquatic leaves bound round her head in her hands she carries a vase, from which flows a stream of sparkling water. The workmanship is of the highest and most careful finish. Placed in a little niche, composed of majolica, the general effect of this little figure is extremely beautiful'.
