Lady playwright: 'So...husband...I really want to call my drama Arthur and name my child Oscar!...but no, all things considered, I won't decide anything before consulting my collaborator!'. Female authors were often depicted as mannish and ugly - the implication being that their intellectual output was just as objectionable as their looks.
