Bust of Dr. Randle Wilbraham Falconer, late Mayor of Bath, 1860. Engraving from a photograph by Mr. E. Flukes, of Bath. The bust '...is in bronze, and was executed by a well-known artist, M. Gardié...The following inscription appears on the pedestal: "This bust of Randle Wilbraham Falconer, Esq., M.D., Mayor of Bath in 1857-8 and 1858-9; one of the physicians to the Bath General and Bath United Hospitals, executed at the expense of inhabitants of that city, who were desirous of showing their appreciation of his public services and private worth, was presented by them to the President and Governors of the Bath General or Mineral Water Hospital, the foundation-stone of the new building connected therewith having been laid during Dr. Falconer's mayoralty." Dr. Falconer is an active promoter of sanitary movements in Bath, and has greatly contributed of late years by his writings to revive the medical reputation of the mineral waters for which Bath has so long been celebrated'.
