The Revolution in Naples - before Capua, Sept. 19 - severe fire on the national troops from the guns of the fortress - from a sketch by our special artist in south Italy, 1860. 'General Türr sent a strong column against Capua, as if to make an assault on the town, and that column was immediately attacked by 10,000 Royalists. During that time other corps of Garibaldians quietly crossed the river, and established themselves on the heights of Cajazzo... A sharp attack was to be made from the main road, which was to be aided by another along the direct road from Naples, which approaches Capua from due south. This auxiliary attack was confided to General Spangaro. General Rostoff commanded the troops at Santa Maria. The whole movement was merely a feint to engage the attention of the guns and garrison generally, while Garibaldi and Türr crossed the Voltumo, and got round to the north-easterly side of Capua, to reconnoitre and obtain possession of Cajazzo, where the high ground entirely commands the city'.
