The Residents House at Simpang van Agteren, 1809. View of the back of the resident's house in the Simpang district in Soerabaja (Surabaya). Country house with outbuildings in a forest on a river under a cloudy sky, 30 September 1809. By order of Governor-General Daendels, the original country house from 1798 in 1808-1811 was thoroughly renovated.
