The Queen's Visit to Birmingham - the Departure from Warwick Castle, 1858. 'At half-past four o'clock her Majesty took her departure from Warwick Castle, expressing the pleasure she had experienced in visiting the castle and the ancient town, of which it was the chief attraction. The Royal cortege took the road through the park, and emerged at West-street, where her Majesty was received with hearty acclamations by the inhabitants assembled in the neighbourhood...A few minutes sufficed to bring the Royal party to the Great Western Railway station, where a guard of honour, consisting of a hundred men of the 22nd Regiment of Foot, commanded by Sir G. Robinson, was stationed, and who saluted her Majesty on her approach'. From "Illustrated London News", 1858.
