The Star Inn, High Street, Alfriston, Wealden, East Sussex, 1940-1949. A street view of the High Street in Alfriston with a focus on the Star Inn, on the left side of the image. The inn is a 15th century timber framed building with plaster infill and a jettied upper floor with three windows. At the far left is a post with an animal carving. To the right of the inn are two other listed buildings; the first is the Saddler's House and Ye Olde Tea House, which has sign boards leant up against the building and a hanging sign over the door; and the second, further in the background, is Patricia Okeley and the Old Manse. In the top right hand corner is a sign for an inn and hanging below another sign which reads: " Tamplins wines & spirits luncheon & teas", which is most likely for the George Inn, a 15th century timber framed building.
