The Bay of Natal, 1857. View in South Africa, from a sketch by Mr. James B. West. 'Natal has been described as a long strip of country in South Africa, along the coast and inland as far as the Drakenaberg, or Quathlamba Mountains, its port lying 1000 miles to the north-east of the Cape of Good Hope. Of this grand natural feature [the engraving] presents a strikingly picturesque view'. From "Illustrated London News", 1857.
