New Church of St. John the Baptist, Isleworth, 1857. 'The style of the church is Gothic, of the Perpendicular period...The architect was James Deason, Esq...The situation is within two or three hundred yards of the Isleworth station of the Windsor Railway; the edifice from it appears to great advantage...To the left of the church in the engraving is the Parsonage House, completed within the last fortnight. It has been built in strict accordance with the character of the church, at the sole cost of John Farnell, Esq., of Isleworth. On the right of the view is shown a portion of a cluster of twelve almshouses, about to be erected and endowed by the same benevolent gentleman - forming altogether a very pleasing and picturesque group'.
