The Music-Room, in the Pavilion, Brighton, 1856. 'One of the most splendidly-embellished apartments is the Music Room...It rises to the height of 41 feet, and is surmounted by a dome 30 feet in diameter; it is richly dight with green and gold, and from the centre and outer circle are suspended lustres for lighting the apartment; the former hanging from gold dragons. In the panels flanking the chimneypiece are two highly finished views in china, the framework of which is enriched with dragons and serpents. On the northern side, in a recess, is a magnificent organ, by Lincoln - at the time of its erection stated to be the largest in the kingdom. This is altogether the most attractive saloon in the Pavilion...'. From "Illustrated London News", 1856.
