De l'inconvénient d'aimer à la fois ..., 1855. ...les chiens, les chats, et les potiches. (The disadvantage of loving dogs, cats and ceramics at the same time). La Potichomanie (potichomania). Potichomania was a process invented in the 18th century to imitate expensive Chinese porcelain. It involved cutting out paper illustrations, gluing them to the inside of a glass vase, and then coating the exterior surface with a background paint to give the piece the appearance of painted porcelain.
