Un affreux cauchemar, 1855. (A horrible nightmare). La Potichomanie (potichomania). Potichomania was a process invented in the 18th century to imitate expensive Chinese porcelain. It involved cutting out paper illustrations, gluing them to the inside of a glass vase, and then coating the exterior surface with a background paint to give the piece the appearance of painted porcelain.
