'Dear Beatrice, according to the statement I recently sent you, during the first six months of this year Alex had deposited to your credit the sum of $14,450. In addition, I deposited to-day ten coupons of International Cotton Mills, $300-, and also my own cheque for $250-, making altogether $550- which, added to the above $14.450-, makes $15,000- total for your income for the first half of this year...I also deposited your mother's cheque of $50,000-...You are now at liberty to draw the balance of your account in the Union Trust and transfer same to your personal account in the Equitable...As I have increased your income and put you on such a definite clear basis, I look to you to manage your household within your income and even show me that you can save something from it. Affectionately, Father'.
