'...whereof Ludlow is Master...and bound from the port of New-York for the port of Savannah in the State of Georgia...Name: Elizabeth; Age: 21; Height: 4.11; Sex: female; Shippers: Henry Young; Residence: New York; Consignee: Mrs Read; Port: Savannah. We do solemnly swear to the best of our knowledge and belief, the above mentioned Slave is not imported or brought into the United States from and after the first day of January, 1808, and the under the laws of the State is held to service or labour...[signatures]...District of New-York, Port of New-York, J. D. Ludlow Master of the said steamship having sworn to the above Manifest, consisting one Slave and delivered a duplicate thereof, according to law, permission is hereby granted to the said steamship to proceed with the above described Slave to the port of Savannah...'.
