Testimonial presented to William Morris, Esq, by the Inhabitants of Carmarthen, 1854. 'Epergne...modelled by Mr. Alfred Brown, for the manufactory of Messrs. Hunt and Roskell...The triangular base bears...Mr. Morris's arms and crest; and the following inscription: "Presented to Mr. William Morris, by his fellow-townsmen, as a mark of their sense of the efficiency and liberality with which he discharged the duties of Chief Magistrate..." At the angles are...devices of Justice, Commerce, and Agriculture. Standing on the base is a classically-designed figure of Minerva, with uplifted spear and extended shield, protecting Commerce and Agriculture; with...the wand of Mercury, a reaping-hook, sheaves, cornucopia, &c. The three figures support a stem...supporting a cut-glass dish. The Testimonial...stands on a...gnarled oak pedestal, designed and manufactured by Mr. John Davies'.
