Two members of staff operating video tape machines in the new conservation centre for the British Film Institute. The new conservation centre for the British Film Institute was designed by architects Nickolls, King Design and was built by Laing's Chiltern Region. The building, which was named the John Paul Getty Jr Conservation Centre, was completed in 1987. It included a concrete single-storey storage building for nitrate film and a one and two-storey building for the restoration of film with an atrium at its centre.
