A portrait of Queen Elizabeth II at the Barbican site on the day of her silver wedding anniversary, during a visit to unveil the foundation stone for the new Arts Centre. Queen Elizabeth II and members of the royal family, including Prince Philip, Prince Charles and Princess Anne, visited the Barbican site on 20th November 1972. This date was the silver wedding anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip. During the visit, the Queen unveiled the foundation stone for the new Arts Centre, set into what would become the main pedestrian approach to the centre.
