The inside of the pamphlet describes Soul City and outlines why the city is necessary and how it will operate and sustain iself. The back of the pamphlet is a black and white map showing the area from Washington, D.C. to Raleigh, North Carolina. [Soul City] is highlighted in red letters on the map just north of Raleigh. Soul City was a planned community first proposed in 1969 by Floyd McKissick, an African-American civil rights leader and director of the Congress of Racial Equality.
