Légende

A pamphlet about the Black Panther Party. Originally named Black Panther Party for Self-Defense, the Black Panther Party is an African American revolutionary movement founded in 1966 in Oakland, California, by Huey P. Newton and Bobby Seale. Although their original purpose was to patrol African American neighbourhoods to protect residents from acts of police brutality, the Panthers developed into a Marxist revolutionary group that called for the arming of all African Americans. Other demands included the exemption of African Americans from the draft and from all sanctions of so-called white America, the release of all African Americans from jail, and the payment of compensation (reparations) to African Americans for centuries of exploitation by white Americans. At its peak in the late 1960s, the organisation operated chapters in several major American cities. Front cover with black and white photograph of members of the Black Panther Party standing in a line. Black print on discolored paper. The interior consists of fourteen pages of text.
