Painters at work on the White City tote, West London, 1932, (1933). 'The largest tote in the world was erected in the White City stadium in time for the Greyhound Derby of 1932'. The White City Stadium was principally used for greyhound racing. In 1939, the tote turnover set new records of £14,341 for a single race and £114,780 for a meeting: by early 21st century standards, the equivalent of £7 million for one meeting.
