The Menin Gate is unveiled, Ypres, Belgium, 24 July 1927, (1935). Field Marshal Lord Plumer unveiled the Menin Gate Memorial to the Missing in memory of British and Commonwealth soldiers killed in the Ypres Salient of World War I, and whose graves are unknown.
