A sensationalist depiction of an incident during the Japanese occupation of Formosa (now Taiwan). In October 1930, indigenous people rose up against Japanese colonial forces in response to long-term oppression. 134 Japanese, including women and children, were killed in an attack on the the Musyaji Elementary School.
