Statue of a knight, Netherby Hall, Arthuret, Cumbria, c1955-c1980. A detailed view of the statue of an armoured knight stood with his hands resting on the pommel of his sword, with the visor of his helmet raised so his face can be seen., situated in a round-headed niche at the base of the original 15th century tower of the hall. Netherby hall was originally a 15th century towerhouse, with walls 2 metres thick, believed to be from a Roman fort, and was extended in 1639 for Sir Richard Graham. Further 18th century additions, including the garden front, were carried out for the Reverend Robert Graham. The original tower is three storeys tall with 19th century facing.
