Shrine of Texas, San Jacinto Battle Grounds, Houston, Texas, USA, 1932. Vintage postcard showing people standing on a pier watching the cruiser USS 'Houston' entering the Buffalo River. Two aircraft fly overhead. Fought on 21 April 1836, the Battle of San Jacinto was the decisive battle in the Texas Revolution in which the Texans gained their independence from Mexico.
