Légende

The lantern-tower of the Cathedral of Evora, Portugal, 2009. The lantern-tower has a row of windows that bathe the transept area with light. Its spire, as well as the spire of the tower above the crossing of the transept, is surrounded by six turrets, and each turret is a miniature copy of the tower itself. Construction of the Romanesque Cathedral of Evora began in 1186. According to local legend, the fleet of Vasco de Gama had their flags blessed here in 1497. The Historic Centre of Evora was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986.
