Légende
An exedra in Kassope, Greece. The original Greek sense of exedra (a seat out of doors) was applied to a room that opened onto a stoa, was ringed with curved high-backed stone benches and was a suitable place for a philosophical conversation. Kassope is one of the best preserved ancient Greek cities. It was the chief settlement of the Kassopaii, a Thesprotian tribe that broke away from the rest of the Thesprotians around 400 BC and formed an independent state.
