On the 'Miracle Mile', Wilshire Boulevard, Los Angeles, California, USA, 1953. Vintage postcard showing a view down Wilshire Boulevard. The Prudential Building is on the right and cars are seen driving on the street. This stretch of Wilshire Boulevard became known as 'Miracle Mile' after developer AW Ross, seeing its potential as a rival commercial district to downtown Los Angeles, oversaw its transformation in the 1920s into one of the most desirable locations in the city.
