A young apprentice at Globe & Simpson auto electricians workshop, Lincoln, Lincolnshire, 1961. An apprentice using a hydrometer to check the sulphuric acid concentration in a Lucas car battery. Based in Sheffield, Globe & Simpson ran an auto electrical engineeing and fuel feed service on a national level. The photograph was used to promote the employment of apprentices in the early 1960s.
