Oak Hill housing development, Rotherham, South Yorkshire, 1970s. Built in 1971, the Oak Hill housing development in Rotherham epitomised everything that was wrong with the attempts of the time to provide mass housing for the increasing population. Designed by G Keenson & Partners, the development quickly became a crime ridden slum and was demolished in the late 1990s to make way for new low rise housing.
