Giant bumble bee sculpture, Eden Project, near St Austell, Cornwall. Located in a disused china clay pit, the Eden Project was the brainchild of businessman Tim Smit. The complex consists of a series of domes (biomes) recreating environments and housing plant species from around the world, together with exterior plantings and sculptures. The site opened in March 2001, since when it has become Cornwall's most popular tourist attraction.
