'The Fishmongers' Almshouses in 1850', (c1878). The Fishmongers' Almshouses, also known as St Peter's Hospital, in the village of Newington Butts, (now part of south London). Inset shows an alcove in the garden. St Peter's Hospital was built by the Worshipful Company of Fishmongers in 1615-1618. New buildings at East Hill in Wandsworth were put up in 1851 and the Newingoton almshouses were demolished. From Old and New London: A Narrative of Its History, Its People, And Its Places.
