'Hicks's Hall (about 1750)', (c1872). Hicks Hall, built in 1611 and demolished in 1778, in St John Street, Clerkenwell, London, was the first purpose-built sessions house for Justices of the Peace of the county of Middlesex (including the City of Westminster). It became the main court of petty sessions and arraignment. The building was also the traditional starting point of the Great North Road.
