'Cairo. Saladin's citadel is the commanding feature of the Arabian town. Here it is seen from the vest with the minarets of the Ibrahim Agha and Kheirbek mosques to the left, and the Mokattam heights behind it', c1920. The Saladin Citadel is an Islamic fortification in the centre of Cairo, dated to 12th century.
