'Abdul Hamid Zia Pasha', c1906, (1907). Abdul Hamid Zia Pasha (1825-1881), poet, publicist and secretary in the Imperial Palace in 1855, translating many French and Spanish works into Turkish. A Founder of the Young Turkish Movement, a political reform movement, favouring replacement of the absolute monarchy of the Ottoman Empire with a constitutional monarchy.
