Légende

Christopher Colombus went to Santo Domingo where the colonial settlement had been moved from Isabella. Colombus attempted to resume his governorship, but the people rebelled. Colombus felt compelled to hang several of the leaders of the resistance. King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella sent a commissioner to investigate problems in the colony. Francisco de Bobadilla felt Colombus had done a poor job as governor and had him deported. On his return to Spain, the King and Queen decided he would no longer be Viceroy of the Colony. And the generous grant of 10% of the profits from the colony that had been granted to him by the crown were much reduced.
