Executed Students. Several medical students were accused on 23 November 1871 having desecrated the tomb of the Spanish journalist Castanon , 45 were arrested. The volunteers of the 5th battalion firing squad, formed a council of war that sentenced to death 8 of them, who were executed from the back and knelt down in November 27.
