Légende

William Blake, English mystic, poet, artist and engraver, 19th century (1956). Although largely ignored by the public of his day, Blake (1770-1845) subsequently came to be regarded as one of the foremost figures of Romanticism. His best-known works include "Jerusalem" (1804-1820) and "The Four Zoas" (1795-1804). Trained at the Royal Academy as an engraver, he devised an innovative technique for producing coloured engravings. A print from "People, a volume about the origin and early history of many things, common and less common, essential and inessential", by Readers Union, the Grosvenor Press, London, 1956.
