Fort Owen, Flathead Village, USA, 1856. The United States Pacific Railroad Survey party at Fort Owen near present-day Stevensville in the Bitterroot Valley of Montana. The fort was originally St Mary's Mission, founded by Jesuit Missionary Pierre DeSmet.
