Bead box and Mandarin's Court necklace, Qing dynasty, China, 19th century. A circular red lacquer bead box with central hole. The box is lacquered in gold with dragons and clouds and contains a mandarin's court necklace of various stones chiefly amber, but also amethyst, malachite, jadeite and rock crystal.
