Covered qingbai box with iron oxide spots on lid, Northern Song dynasty, China, mid 11th century. A covered qingbai box with three concave horizontal bands covering the sides of the box both top and bottom. The top has a small, slightly recessed circular section with six iron spots; one in the centre surrounded by the other five spots. The decoration is all under a white crackled glaze of slight greenish-white tone.
