Légende
Jade vessel with kui dragon handle, Song dynasty, China, 960-1279. A small plain jade vessel of Yi-form with thickened rim. The shape of this archaistic vessel is derived from the bronze Yi-shaped pouring vessels of the Zhou dynasty. The piece is of pale celadon colour with extensive brown flecking.
