Beijing enamel incense stick holder with bronze pierced cover, Qing dynasty, China, early-mid 18th century. A small Beijing enamel incense stick holder with a pierced bronze cover with lotus scrolls carved in openwork. The foliated rim of the shallow bowl of the censer is divided into 12 lobes, each painted with a lotus blossom in pink enamel. The body of the bowl is decorated with lotus scrolls in pink and red enamels with green leaves all on a lemon-yellow enamel ground. The interior of the bowl is covered with blue enamel with a cylindrical incense stick holder in the centre.
