Qingbai bowl with pomegranate design, Yuan dynasty, China, early 14th century. A six-lobed bowl with steeply rounded sides and metal bound rim. The interior is decorated with a moulded central medallion of prunus above water showing reflection of the crescent moon above, encircled by a band of fruiting pomegranate growing from leafy scrolled stems below a key-fret band. The piece is covered with a qingbai glaze of bluish tint.
