Légende

'A Block on the Line', 1867. The railway track of government business is being blocked by the train of Parliamentary reform which has come off its rails. Mr Bull insists that the line must be cleared. John Bright, the Liberal Lord Russell and the Conservative Disraeli are amongst those offering to take on the task of clearing the Reform train from the tracks. Disraeli asks for help, though, from the Liberal, Mr Gladstone. This cartoon simply illustrates the number of different political factions who had had their fingers in the pie of parliamentary reform. From Punch, or the London Charivari, March 2, 1867.
