Mauro Forghieri, Alex Soler-Roig, Niki Lauda and Jocken Mass at Zandvoort, (1972?). Pictured from left to right. Forghieri designed cars and engines for Ferrari, and is best known for the 312 series of cars and for his flat 12 engine. Under his guidance Ferrari won the World Drivers' title four times and the Constructors' title seven times. He left Ferrari in 1987 to become technical director of Lamborghini Engineering. Soler-Roig raced for Lotus in 1970, March in 1972 and BRM (British Racing Motors) in 1972. Lauda was world champion in 1975, 1977 and 1984. Mass joined Formula One in the 1973 British Grand Prix driving for Surtees. He switched to McLaren late in 1974, was paired with Emerson Fittipaldi in the Marlboro-McLaren squad for 1975, and won the Spanish Grand Prix at Barcelona after the race was stopped following Rolf Stommelen's accident in the Hill GH1 which killed four spectators.
